Playing Internet Poker on a Mac
Back about 17 years ago people began playing online
poker. There were some shoddy poker sites out there and
some used Java. This Java is still one of the more
popular ways to play
Mac poker. The Java doesn’t require downloads so it
works on most operating systems including that of Mac OS
X.
To this day there are still very few poker sites which
allowing downloading on a Mac. There has yet to be a
Mac online casino that can be downloaded. Casinos
prefer to use Flash software which is similar in style
to Java, yet two totally different programs.
Macs aren’t the only operating systems with problems.
While the population of Linux users is quite small,
Linux poker compatibility is an issue. This problem
is also solved with Java accepted poker sites.
Many poker sites have begun to see the
light at the end of the tunnel. A little over 2 years
ago Mac and Linux users only had 1 or 2 places to play
online poker. Now the list is quite long with all the
major brands either having an Instant Play software or
Mac download version.
The most popular is Full Tilt Poker.
They came out with their version less than a year ago
and really took over the Mac market. Previously
PokerRoom was the dominating Mac site but now Full Tilt
Poker took over because their software can be downloaded
on a Mac. There are many good
bonus codes for Fulltiltpoker that offer players up
to $200. Unfortunately
Carbon Poker is not compatible with Mac but quite
possibly in the future.
As things continue to change in the poker
market we expect to see bigger and better things for Mac
users. Compatiblepoker.com continues to follow the Mac
poker scene and update their players on new poker sites
that come out on the Mac.
